And just like that ...

We are into the season of Fall.

Not only is Fall the season of giving thanks — it is also the season of Letting Go.

How do we continue to incorporate life changes alongside seasonal changes?

One way to navigate the seasons is through food + life-style choices.

Ayurveda — India's ancient medical science, rooted in holistic wellness practices — recommends alleviating the drying winds of autumn (which can incite restlessness + anxiety) with grounding qualities that are warm + moist.

Changing Foods

Fall Herbs + Spices:

cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, tulsi tea

Foods to favor:

apples, cranberries, dates, beets, oats, avocado

Try and reduce:

caffeine, raw foods, popcorn

Recipe for Fall

Baked / Stewed Apples:

Try a simple breakfast that is nourishing + grounding. Bake or cook apples on stovetop with ghee + a mix of clove, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon. Add any of the following: chopped figs, dates, cranberries or raisins. Choose what you like. Cook through and serve warm.

Grounding Practices for Fall

▪ Set daily routines

▪ Wear a hat

▪ Rest, try not to rush through activities
