And just like that ...

We are into the season of Fall.

Not only is Fall the season of giving thanks—it is also the season of Letting Go.

How do you continue to incorporate life changes alongside seasonal changes?

One way to navigate the seasons is through food + life-style choices.

Ayurveda—India's ancient medical science, rooted in holistic wellness practices—recommends alleviating the drying winds of autumn (mobile + erratic qualities, which can incite restlessness + anxiety) with grounding qualities that are warm + moist.

Changing Foods

Fall Herbs + Spices:

cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, tulsi tea

Foods to favor:

apples, cranberries, dates, beets, oats, avocado

Try to reduce:

caffeine, raw foods, popcorn

Recipe for Fall

Baked or Stewed Apples:

A simple breakfast that is nourishing + grounding. Bake or cook apples stovetop with ghee + a mix of clove, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon. Add chopped figs, apricots, dates, cranberries or raisins. Choose what you like. Cook through and serve warm.

Grounding Practices for Fall

▪ Establish daily routines

▪ Don’t let your head and ears get cold; wear a hat

▪ Rest is a natural part of this season; try not to rush through your morning routine
